Session Spotlight: General Session Partner Focus

True to our commitment to our members to be the premier public sector event, we listened closely to the feedback that told our conference planners that the traditional vendor expo model held little value for conference delegates. Meeting representatives and gathering information is important, but the expo hall and booth approach lacked informational depth. We’ve replaced the expo with this intimate, interactive session based on the concept of speed dating. Come enjoy breakfast and see what it’s all about!

The 2018 AEP Award recipients will be recognized. You don’t want to miss this!

Session Spotlight: Prepare for the Worst Part 1

This private sector trend is a must in the public sector. Private industry has recognized the impact that an incident of active violence can have on the viability of the organization and forward thinking companies are developing plans, training employees and enacting protocols to address the threat of workplace violence. This two-part presentation will examine some of the responses and strategies private industry is employing that can be adopted in a public setting. In Part 1, participants will learn the importance of awareness and having a response plan and come away with ideas for strengthening the defensive posture of your organization as well as response and recovery plans.

Session Spotlight: The Women of Procurement

Renowned speaker Marcheta Gillespie will lead one of today’s hottest topics. The Women of Procurement: Tales of Strife, Success and Survival explores why we are so much more than a hashtag (#MeToo)! Many women in business have experienced treatment reflective of the #MeToo movement. But many others have flourished in a culture that supports, develops and promotes women in leadership roles. Join this panel of female leaders in our profession as they share their own stories of strife and success. The panel will discuss the challenges of being a woman in a leadership role, how they dealt with inappropriate or unfair treatment and how they made a difference in creating cultures where women flourish alongside their male counterparts.
